The UC offers student groups the opportunity to rent free of charge a set of speakers which can be used for anything from a microphone-based system for announcements at events to large-scale parties for dining halls and other large venues. Additionally, the UC offers student groups projectors that students are able to use for meetings and/or events.
How do I rent the speakers and projectors?
You can rent the speakers and/or projectors in one of two ways: 1) Email Media and Technology Services at mtsequip@fas.harvard.edu with the subject line “UC Speakers Rental” or “UC Projectors Rental” and indicate in the email when you would like to rent them, and the duration of your rental; 2) Stop by Media and Technology Services in the basement of the science center and request a rental. Please do not contact the UC directly to rent the speakers or projectors (but please contact us if you have any questions about the speaker and projectors rental service!) as Media and Technology Services is handling the rental entirely.
What exactly can I rent?
We have two sets of speakers available free of charge, a large set that comes with a mixer perfect for large venues that require the use of music and a smaller set that is perfect for smaller venues for either music or microphone use. The speakers come with all the neccessary cables and we even have a microphone for rent as well with the speakers.
We also have two projectors that are available for rent by recognized student groups.
Do I have to pay to rent the speakers or projectors?
No! The speakers and projectors are free to rent to any interested student group.
How do I know if the speakers or projectors are available for my event?
Contact Media and Technology Services at mtsequip@fas.harvard.edu to inquire about availability. Alternatively, you can drop in on Media and Technology Services in the basement of the Science Center to ask about availability.
