2009 Presidential Elections

Below you will find information on the Fall 2009 Presidential Elections.


Schedule

Nominating Petitions Due: Monday, November 2, 11:59PM
Campaigning Begins: Monday, November 9, 12:01AM
Voting Opens: Monday, November 16, 12:01PM
Voting Closes: Thursday, November 19, 11:59AM

Candidates

The candidates are:

  • John Bowman (Phorzheimer '11) and Eric Hysen (Mather '11);
  • George Hayward (Currier '11) and Felix Zhang (Cabot '11); and
  • Robert Long (Mather '11) and David Johnson (Mather '11).

The nominating petitions are available for download.

Candidates who would like to have other students communicate on their behalf with the election commission should file an Authorized Campaign Representative Form.

Reports

Each campaign is required to submit reports each day. Those reports are available below:

Staff Lists

Only candidates and their staff may engage in campaign activities. All staff members should sign this staff list, which should be sent to the Commission each day by 5PM.

Rules

Click here to download the Presidential Election Rules. By declaring your candidacy you agree to follow these rules. The Election Commission has the power to disqualify candidates who violate them.

Nominating Petitions

To be eligible to appear on the ballot and receive campaign financing, you must collect signatures from 150 undergraduates. Use this form to collect your signatures and fill it out completely.

Campaigning

Campaigning begins at 12:01 AM on Monday, November 9. Campaigning before the beginning of the campaigning window can be grounds for disqualification. The Election Commission considers early campaigning to be a serious violation of the fairness of the elections and will be punished accordingly.
